A Little More About Me, As If Anyone Cares ;)

A tireless seeker of knowledge, always yearning for challenges and puzzles... I have been fascinated by computers since I was in diapers. Things never changed... I'm no longer in diapers though!

In high school, I was that kid that seemed to never be paying attention. Seemingly in my own world of thoughts. That is also the time I got introduced to programming and I've been hooked ever since.

When I entered college, I had a somewhat clear mind to become a software developer. But, strings had their own way of unfolding. During the start of the second-half of my second year at IIITD, I got introduced to Research and I've been pursuing it ever since, with my focus being Structural and Computation Biology. University is also the time where I completed some awesome projects which can be found here

Education

Idraprastha Institue of Information Technology, Delhi

Btech, Computer Sience and Biosciences Present

It is an interdisciplinary programme aimed at providing knowledge of Computer Science, foundations of Modern Biology along with Mathematics to enable individuals to be able to harness the power of mathematics and computation and use them to solve the lacunas in Modern Biology. The programme aims to develope a very good understanding of Mathematics and Computer Science along with a strong foundation in Biology.

Work

CHARTR Intern

Backend Developer Intern (Team of 2) June 2019 - August 2019

Worked with Dr. Pravesh Biyani and his team in order to develop a Public Information System(PIS) for DIMTS. Major contribution included development of an API which took the stop number as input and returned the required information from the central database which was regularly populated with live data.

Summer Intern, ECE Labs, IIITD

Research Project Developer (Team of 4) May 2019 - July 2019

Created an automatic entry/exit record keeping system. The system could automatically read the License Plate of any incoming or outgoing vehicle and accordingly maintained a central database of registered vehicles allowing the user to track the number of vehicles inside the campus at any given time. The system aimed at automating the record keeping process to create an accurate and robust log of incoming and outgoing vehicles.

Tools and Skills

My never-ending quest for nowledge and the habbit of tinkering about with anything I can lay my hands on has always led me to increase the different number of skills in my arsenal. The fact that I find it hard to give up on a problem once I set my mind to it, allows me to sometimes increase my knowledge on a given subject and learn completely new things at other times! The following are some things I believe I am skilled at (Right now):

C/C++, JAVA, Python, SQL, BASH, Javascript
Backend Development
C# and Unity
Molecular Dynamics Simulations
Flask, Django, Selenium
React Native
GROMACS, AutoDock, Visual Molecular Dynamics (VMD)

Some Words That Found Their Way Inside My Thick Head :)

  • Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning

    Rick Cook
  • Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it.

    Steve Jobs
  • If it disagrees with experiment, it's wrong. And that simple statement is the key to science. It doesn't make a difference how beautiful your guess is, it doesn't matter how smart you are, who made the guess, or what his name is. If it disagrees with experiment, it's wrong. That's all there is to it.
